Pintura, Leeds’ very first Basque tapas restaurant, opened in February at Trinity Leeds by the people behind some of the city’s tried and tested favourites – Cielo Blanco, Oporto and Jake’s Bar.

Meaning ‘work of art’, Pintura serves Spanish tapas using traditional recipes and artisan ingredients combined with modern flavour combinations.

As well as its usual dishes, such as salted cod, Iberico ham, octopus and pig’s cheek, every Sunday Pintura also serves its own speciality of a succulent whole pig – perfect for larger tables.

There is also the specialist Gin Bar, which serves over 30 varieties of gin, as well as a variety of Basque-inspired cocktails.

Pintura Kitchen and Bar creator Ged Feltham said: “Having enjoyed many a memorable summer holidaying in the stunning surroundings of the Basque region, I fell in love with the Spanish lifestyle and the passion they have about the food that they eat.

“Pintura really has been inspired by those experiences and our talented head chef Greg, the team and I have worked incredibly hard to deliver a dining experience that is real, honest and distinctive.”
