I sometimes wonder if there’s a law that states every UK seaside resort must have an amusement arcade, a smelly fish and chip shop, irritating seagulls and a mass of OAPs on a coach trip.
I can’t think of another country where this is the case, and we wonder why tourism on our coasts has never really taken off?
I’ll admit that I’m not a fan of seaside resorts. There is every chance this could be because I used to sell luxury static holiday homes (you might call them caravans) on Haven holiday parks up and down the country and spent two years living on a coastal resort.
So when I was asked to visit Ox Pastures Hall near Scarborough I’ll admit to being a little apprehensive. The key factor, however, that was pushing me to go is that Ox Pastures Hall is actually situated some four miles inland and well away from the afore mentioned stereotypes.
It’s some time since my own wedding but let me tell you if I had my time again Ox Pastures would without doubt be on our list of possible venues. The scenery as I’ve mentioned is Yorkshire at its very best and the facilities available at Ox Pastures match the needs of a wedding perfectly.
All-in-all a pleasant experience, you can check them out at www.oxpasturehallhotel.com
