If you live in West Yorkshire, there’s a good chance you’ve heard Smooth Radio more than a few times. It’s one of those stations that’s often on in the background while you’re driving or getting things done around the house.
Now Smooth has branched out beyond radio, with the launch of Smooth Spins, a new online gaming brand from Global and BVGroup. It might be an unexpected combination, but it makes sense when you look at how much entertainment has changed.
Where To Find Smooth Radio in Yorkshire
If you listen to Smooth Radio in West Yorkshire, you can find it on 100.4 FM. The station is owned by Global Media and Entertainment, which also runs familiar names such as Heart, Capital and Radio X. It’s known for its mix of classic and contemporary music and has built a strong audience around that.
Smooth Spins takes that familiar name into the world of online gaming.
A Look at Yorkshire’s Physical Casinos
Online gaming is convenient, but plenty of people still enjoy going to a casino in person and Yorkshire has lots of options. These venues also give people something more than the games themselves. Depending on where you go, you can grab some food, have a drink or catch some live entertainment while you’re there.
Victoria Gate Casino in Leeds is one of the biggest names, known as the Super Casino of the North. The venue has live gaming tables, slot machines and electronic gaming terminals, along with a sports bar, dining and live entertainment. It hosts DJs, acoustic performances, tribute bands as well as drag queen bingo.
Sheffield has Genting Casino with games including baccarat, roulette and blackjack, slot machines and its World Bar, if you’re in the mood to get a drink and watch some live sports.
If you’re heading towards the coast, Scarborough has Opera House Casino, which combines traditional games and slots with bars and a space for private events.
Smooth Spins Takes Things Online
Not everyone wants to head into town though.
If you’d rather stay home, Smooth Spins is the new online casino from Smooth Radio, launched through a partnership between Global and BVGroup. Sarah Caskie, Head of Heart Bingo and Smooth Spins at BVGroup, said the companies were “thrilled to be partnering once again” with Global, following the successful launch of Heart Bingo in 2021.
Smooth Spins focuses mostly on slot games, including fan favourites like Starburst and Big Bass Splash. And if you want to check out the Smooth Spins casino online, there’s no need to sit at a desktop computer as the platform is also available on mobile.
Final Thoughts
Smooth Radio moving into online gaming is an interesting development for a brand that most people know for music, but it isn’t hard to see why it works. Yorkshire already has plenty of physical casinos, from Leeds and Sheffield to Bradford and Scarborough. Smooth Spins gives people another option when staying home feels easier.
And for anyone in West Yorkshire who wants a familiar radio station in the background, Smooth Radio is still there on 100.4 FM.
