a menu that reads absolutely beautifully with a price point that incredibly reasonable too.
It’s been sometime since I ventured to the Iron City, so an invite to the newly refurbished Prince of Wales gastro eatery in Sheffield was a welcome excuse to venture down the M1.
Part of the Premium County Pubs chain The Prince of Wales in Sheffield is not what you would expect from a chain of restaurants owned by the Mitchells & Butler group.
Whilst there are some improvements to make in the meet and greet department once settled at the table all that is forgotten on sight of a menu that reads absolutely beautifully with a price point that incredibly reasonable too.
My wife heads straight to the Chargrilled Lamb Koftas with goats curd, plum tomato, roasted red pepper, cucumber and mint salad. I have to say I am totally jealous, especially after to trying it, I’m struggling to remember the last time I had a kofta as good as this, the key is that it’s remain moist, something most koftas struggle with, outstanding.
Dessert was only ever going to be the melting chocolate & peanut bomb that whilst absolutely awesome in flavor failed deliver the instagramable moment where the chocolate melts to deliver the prize due to either the chocolate being too thick of the salted caramel not hot enough, disappointing but recoverable with the flavor of the dessert, epic.
The Prince of Wales in Sheffield is certainly worth a visit, well prepared gastro dishes at very reasonable prices means I’m likely to visit again next time I’m in the area, a few tweaks to the smaller details and I’d probably make a de-tour.
