Located on the fringe of the Haggerston Castle Haven Holiday Park, Badger Lakes is a relatively new development offering stunning lakeside views from lodges and high end holiday homes.
I don’t go to a caravan park for as long as I can remember then I visit 2 in the space of a few weeks, what is going on?
It’s strategic, we have 1 year to go before Little Pudd goes to school, so now is all about making sure we utilise our time correctly to ensure we get as many holidays as we can with plenty of quality time before we get attacked by the school holiday prices we love to hate.
I know this is super organised of me, and you probably hate me for it, but our 3 family holidays for next year are all organised, fully planned and in the diary, tight Yorkshire Man, no not me! Ha.
So with a couple of months to go before our next overseas trip, Bourne Leisure dropped us a line to ask if we wanted to visit Badger Lakes in Northumberland and we jumped at the chance.
Located on the fringe of the Haggerston Castle Haven Holiday Park, Badger Lakes is a relatively new development offering stunning lakeside views from lodges and high end holiday homes.
Our accommodation is the lodge style holiday home surrounded by a private verandah and it’s very own jetty onto the lake.
The real beauty of Badger Lakes is the fact that you are as far or as near as you want to be when it comes to the traditional activities a Haven Holiday Park as to offer.
Our weekend was filled with Spa treatments for my wife (yes they even have a spa) swimming and lots of it, bike riding and Little Pudd’s favourite pony trekking.
Once finished with the activities on the Haven side of the park, a quick walk back to Badger Lakes offers a owner’s only bar and restaurant which itself enjoys lake side views and has a great adventure play area to keep the little ones happy whilst we enjoy a well deserved drink.
The highlight of the weekend has to be tucking into a couple of Rib-Eye steaks that we picked up locally barbecued overlooking the lake together with a large glass of red makes for a perfect weekend away.
