Yorkshire is officially the best place in the UK to find Fish and Chips so we thought we’d reveal our favourite five.

I’d like to think of myself as Fish and Chip connoisseur, my knowledge of what makes a great plate of the British Classic as developed over an extensive period of time, I’ve literally consumed thousands of portions in a dedicated pursuit of the very best Fish and Chips in Yorkshire.

There are, in my opinion, a few golden rules when it comes to Fish and Chips,

Rule 1 – ‘Beef Dripping’, yep vegans and veggies you can leave now, anything other than Fish and Chips cooked in beef dripping is simply wrong!

Rule 2 – It’s got to be Haddock, a meaty fish that swims at the top of the sea in clean water, unlike its filthy cousin, favoured by southerners, the Cod which swims with the dirt at the bottom of the ocean, so I’m told.

Rule 3 – Scraps (you might call them bits) drenched in salt and vinegar they take this staple meal to a whole new level, don’t leave the chippy without them!

so without further ado let me tell you my favourite 5 Chippy’s in Yorkshire.
