Although Yorkshire dropped from its highest position of 7th in the table, it did finish a very respectable 12th. Not bad when you consider 204 countries took part!
Significantly, Team GB would have slipped to 3rd in the final table had it not been for the splendour of ‘God’s Own County’ – the People’s Republic of Yorkshire!
As things stand, we’re too late to start a bid for the 2020 Olympic Games, but maybe Yorkshire 2024 could be a goer?
