The People’s Pizza

ITV’s This Morning recently launched a joint venture with Dominos Pizza to find The Peoples Pizza.  When I heard about the contest, I knew I needed to enter.

I began with a bit of market research and ultimately chose Gambas Pil Pil for my submission as the best topping for the Peoples Pizza.  Those of you who have heard of Gambas Pil Pil before, I am sure, are already starting to drool at the mention of it.  For everybody else, allow me to inform you of and entice you with a topping idea that adds an explosion of flavor to many dishes – pizza being just one of them.

The Spanish tapas dish Gambas Pil Pil consists of prawns served in a sizzling sauce of garlic, chili, and olive oil with a twist of lemon.  It’s usually served with a large wedge of fresh bread to mop up the juices.  Adding this to pizza positively makes for a unique and utterly delicious eating experience.

I was so confident in my pizza topping that I even put together this exclusive video clip aimed at enticing This Morning presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield into selecting my creation as the People’s Pizza.

So what do you think?  The great news is I got a call to let me know I made it to the final 10.  The bad news is I couldn’t make it in for filming!  So I had to pull out of the competition – boooo.

I’m deeply disappointed that I was unavailable, on the other hand it was exciting to make it to the final 10.  I am sure there will be more opportunities and when they present themselves, I will be there…waiting…with delicious recipe ideas that dazzle and delight.  Stay tuned!
