A Luxurious Jet2CityBreak to Marrakech: Exploring Elegance, Culture, and Unforgettable Adventures

Marrakech is not just a destination; it’s an experience, a city that stirs the soul and excites the senses. Thanks to Jet2CityBreaks, we had the privilege of discovering its magic while indulging in the luxurious surroundings of the Nobu Hotel Marrakech. Whether planning ahead or looking for last minute holidays with Jet2holidays, Marrakech offers the perfect blend of elegance, culture, and adventure. This city break was more than just a holiday; it was a chance to reconnect, explore, and immerse ourselves in a world where elegance and adventure meet.

Effortless Elegance from the Start

The anticipation of our trip began to build the moment we stepped into Manchester Airport. Jet2’s new self-service check-in system was a revelation. From scanning our boarding passes to printing luggage tags and dropping our bags, the entire process was seamless.

For anyone planning flights from Manchester Airport with Jet2, this efficient process ensures a stress-free start to your journey. What really stood out, though, was the presence of Jet2 staff, friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist. In less than 30 minutes, we were relaxing in the airport lounge, sipping champagne and enjoying a leisurely breakfast. This smooth start set the tone for what was to come.

As we boarded the iconic Jet2 Boeing 737 aircraft, with its signature vibrant red livery exuding confidence and style, at Manchester’s impressive Terminal 2, excitement truly took hold.

With Jet2 offering convenient and comfortable flights to Marrakech, the journey felt as much a part of the holiday as the destination itself. Settling into our seats, I debated between another glass of champagne or something more familiar—Yorkshire tea won, and it paired perfectly with a movie on my iPad as we soared towards Morocco. Jet2’s impeccable service made the journey feel effortless, allowing us to fully relax and anticipate the adventure ahead.

Arriving in Marrakech, we were greeted by the grand architecture of the airport—a marvel of marble walls, bright LED lighting, and the faint aroma of orange blossom. Jet2 had prepared us for potential delays at immigration, but to our delight, we breezed through in record time. Our luggage was ready in minutes, and soon, we were whisked away by our driver from the Nobu Hotel. The drive itself was a cultural introduction, as motorbikes buzzed past in chaotic harmony—a vibrant prelude to the rich culture that awaited us.

At the Nobu Hotel Marrakech, we were greeted with the kind of service that sets five-star hospitality apart. While we relaxed on plush seating in the chic lobby, the check-in process was handled effortlessly. Moments later, we were shown to our room—a stunning blend of contemporary elegance and Moroccan charm. Our bags followed swiftly, reinforcing the hotel’s commitment to five-star service.

That evening, we dined at the Nobu Restaurant, an experience that epitomised luxury. Renowned for its inventive Japanese cuisine, the restaurant offered a menu brimming with iconic dishes. We indulged in the Black Cod Miso, Rock Shrimp Tempura, and Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño, each dish showcasing bold, perfectly balanced flavours. The Black Cod, in particular, was a revelation—the best I’ve ever tasted. Its buttery texture and umami-packed marinade are a triumph of culinary artistry. Complementing the meal was an extensive selection of cocktails, each as refined and meticulously crafted as the food.

Dining at Nobu wasn’t just a meal; it was an immersive experience in luxury and taste, setting the perfect tone for the rest of our trip. By the end of the evening, it was clear that Marrakech, and the Nobu Hotel in particular, would deliver moments to remember.

Cultural Immersion and Rooftop Bliss

The morning of our first full day in Marrakech was dedicated to relaxation, and there was no better place to unwind than Nobu’s renowned rooftop. Often described as the best rooftop in Marrakech, it offers breathtaking 360-degree views of the Red City and the majestic Atlas Mountains. The circular pool, surrounded by lush greenery and chic loungers, felt like a private sanctuary. Sipping cocktails and grazing on light bites, we soaked in the sun, letting the calm wash over us.

But Marrakech is not a city to simply observe—it demands to be experienced. In the late afternoon, we embarked on a walking tour booked through GetYourGuide. At just over £80 for two people, this three-hour adventure was exceptional value for money and an ideal way to immerse ourselves in the city’s rich culture.

The first stop was Ben Youssef Madrasa, a former Islamic college that stands as a testament to Morocco’s architectural and educational history. The intricate tile work and peaceful courtyards transported us to another era, offering a glimpse into the city’s storied past.

Next, we visited the Secret Garden, a hidden oasis in the heart of Marrakech. The serene pathways, vibrant greenery, and tranquil fountains provided a moment of calm amidst the city’s hustle and bustle. However, the highlight of the tour was undoubtedly the souks. A maze of narrow alleys bursting with life, the souks are a sensory explosion—vivid colours, the aroma of exotic spices, and the rhythmic hum of haggling vendors. It’s not for the faint-hearted, but it’s here that Marrakech’s true spirit comes alive.

After the tour, hunger led us to a delightful discovery: Al Khayma Rooftop Restaurant. Perched above the bustling streets, it offered a tranquil escape with stunning views. The Chicken and Preserved Lemon Tagine was a revelation—rich, fragrant, and full of authentic Moroccan flavour. Paired with refreshing drinks, the meal was a steal at just £24 for two. Dining here felt like uncovering a hidden gem, and it became one of our most memorable meals.

Romance, Rest, and Culinary Magic

By Day 3, we were ready for a slower pace. With busy lives back home, this city break was a rare chance to reconnect as a couple, and we took full advantage. Returning to the Nobu rooftop, we spent the day sipping wine, chatting for hours, and basking in the sun. It was a day dedicated to nothing but each other—a luxury in itself.

That evening, we ventured to Safran by Koya, a restaurant renowned for its “Delicious Food & Live Show Experience.” From the moment we arrived, it was clear this was more than just a meal—it was a feast for all the senses. The menu, inspired by the Mediterranean rim, offered a stunning array of dishes. We chose the Lamb Tagine, a dish so tender and flavourful that it left us in awe. Paired with an exceptional bottle of red wine, it was a culinary experience to savour.

The restaurant came alive as we dined with a vibrant show of Moroccan music and dance. The performers, draped in colourful attire, moved with energy and grace, transforming the evening into a celebration of Moroccan culture. It was an unforgettable night that perfectly captured the essence of Marrakech.

A Farewell to Remember

Our final morning began with what had become a daily highlight: breakfast at Nobu. Every element of the meal was exquisite, from the spiced figs and rich honey to the granola and creamy yoghurt. Moroccan tea and freshly squeezed juice completed the experience, making it the perfect start to our last day.

Before leaving, I treated myself to one last indulgence: Nobu’s spa. The indoor pool, steam room, and jacuzzi offered a peaceful retreat, allowing me to reflect on the incredible journey we’d had. It was the perfect way to unwind before our seamless journey home with Jet2.

As expected, Jet2 made the return journey effortless. Their attentive staff ensured every detail was taken care of, and before we knew it, we were back in Manchester. Arriving home to the excited greetings of our daughter and dog, we couldn’t help but feel grateful for the memories we’d created.
