exploring the beauty that the UK has to offer

There is no reason not to dream while we’re waiting out Lockdown 3.0. We can dream. We can plan. We can have an entire trip planned out within the UK once lockdown eases up, and we can start exploring again. While travel corridors might change on a dime, exploring the beauty that the UK has to offer is still very much so an option.

There are so many health benefits to planning a trip, and those benefits start from the moment you pick a destination, and there are so many great destinations to start dreaming about, but our personal favourites are:

The Cotswolds

cotswold village street

The Cotswolds are a wonderful place to escape to, especially if it is with your friends or with your significant other. It’s charming, with little towns and stunning architecture to enjoy. You can really go all out with a stay in one of the many manor-turned-hotels, or even go camping in the beautiful countryside. It is one of the most iconic places in the UK, and definitely a place worth going to post-lockdown.

Cornwall

Cornwall Beach

Cornwall is an excellent destination post-lockdown. Numbers in the area have always been very low, and so long as you don’t go during peak-season, there are many great places to stay, from hotels to camping. Enjoy the rugged coast for yourself, and really enjoy all that the seaside has to offer in the form of seafood, water sports, and hiking trails.

Peak District National Park

Peak District

We’ve written before about the Peak District, and it still remains one of the best destinations in the UK to explore. It’s beauty has to be seen to be believed, and there are so many wonderful things to do and see. It is great for those with kids as there are plenty of things to do that will keep them active and thrilled throughout the trip. We highly recommend taking the Monsal Trail, where you’ll see some stunning limestone dales.

Edinburgh

edinburgh castle

Edinburgh will always be one of the most stunning cities in the UK, and post-lockdown, there are so many reasons to visit and enjoy. With finger’s crossed, the Fringe Festival will be back on this summer, giving us all a chance to laugh until we cry. If not, you can always explore Edinburgh Castle or hike up Arthur’s seat.

London

London

London has everything, which is why it will always be one of the top staycation options in the UK. From museums, to art, to entertainment, to food, there is something for everyone. We recommend exploring beyond the top ten destinations, however, and ideally seeing what Zones 2 and beyond have to offer for an authentic experience of London.

There are so many destinations to explore and enjoy in the UK. You can strike out on your own, or enjoy any of these top destinations compiled by the travel experts over at Conde Nast Traveller. The only thing that is certain is that there are many places to stay and enjoy right here in the UK, so get those wanderlust glasses on and start to plan.
